Nalora stores what you log so it can show it back to you. We don't sell data, there are no ads, and your expenses aren't shared with anybody beyond the people you invite to a budget.
Without an account, everything stays on your phone. The app works fully that way.
With an account, our server (Supabase, in the European Union) stores your email address, the name you chose, your budgets and your expenses — amount, date, the description you typed and the currency — and who shares each budget. That is what lets you see them on every device, and what lets the other person see what you logged.
When you dictate an expense, the text your phone understood is sent to Google (Gemini) to interpret it. When you photograph a receipt, the photo is read on the phone and only the resulting text is sent.
Neither the audio nor the photo is sent, and none of it is stored: it is used to answer and then discarded. With no connection, or without Nalora Pro, the expense is interpreted by the phone's own rules and nothing is sent.
We use Firebase Analytics to know which parts of the app get used, and Crashlytics to hear about errors. What travels is what happened and by which route — "an expense was logged by voice", "the Days screen was opened" — and never amounts, descriptions, budget names or email addresses. We don't use the advertising identifier: the app disables it on purpose.
If you turn them on, we store a device identifier so we can send them. It is deleted when you sign out on that phone.
Purchases are handled by Google Play and the App Store; we never see or store payment details. On our side there is only whether the account has Nalora Pro.
What is stored lives as long as your account does. You can delete it in the app, under Profile → Delete account: your account and your budgets go, also for the people you share them with. What you logged in other people's budgets stays, because it is part of that budget's arithmetic. Details on deleting your account.
You can ask us for a copy of your data, for corrections, or for deletion, by writing to hello@nalorastudio.com. If something still doesn't sit right, you can complain to your country's data protection authority.
Nalora is not meant for children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their data.
If we change something substantial you'll see it here with a new date, and if it affects how your data is used we'll say so inside the app.
